NDC FACILITATION ACADEMY TRAINING
Neurodivergent Care Training for Au Pairs, Facilitators, Tutors and Carers
Clinically designed, neuro-affirming training, online and available worldwide
Very few carers are trained in neurodivergent care.
Most au pairs, nannies, facilitators and tutors have never been taught how autistic, ADHD and otherwise neurodivergent people experience the world, or how to support them without adding stress. Well-meaning approaches built on compliance, rewards and correction can backfire, especially for people with sensory differences or a persistent drive for autonomy (PDA).
Our training was developed by the Neurodiversity Centre’s clinical multidisciplinary team. It teaches support staff that regulation comes before performance, that behaviour is communication, and that connection is the foundation of all meaningful support.
Training is delivered online, so it is open to carers, families and agencies anywhere in the world, whether or not your support person was placed by us.

What the full training covers
The full onboarding course is grounded in:
- Current research in neurodevelopment and the neurodiversity paradigm
- Understanding neurodivergent profiles: autism, ADHD, PDA, dyslexia and related differences
- The theory and principles of neuro-affirming support
- Practical, real-world facilitation strategies for home and school
- Emotional regulation, co-regulation and sensory support
- Understanding behaviour as communication
The personalised support sessions then bridge theory and practice, tailored to the specific person the carer supports: their strengths, sensory needs, communication style, regulation profile and goals.
